B&B Theatres is committed to growth that is measured and calculated yet aggressive. Over the last decade, the company has expanded incredibly…building, remodeling, and acquiring theater locations across the country. Through positive relationships and an honest and considerate approach to business, B&B Theatres has become the sixth largest cinema company in the United States. The development team is widely regarded among the most thorough in the industry, and they work tirelessly to evaluate opportunities in diverse markets to determine where, how, and when B&B Theatres might be able to expand to bring the magic of the movies to more guests across the country.
Despite an unprecedented and challenging 2020, B&B is still positioned to realize exceptional growth and expansion, ensuring the magic of the movies remains strong on the other side of a global pandemic.
The past eighteen months have been among the most difficult ever for B&B Theatres and for the exhibition industry as a whole. The global pandemic has affected countless individuals, families, and companies, but few have been as dramatically impacted as the movie business.
Despite an unprecedented and challenging 2020, B&B is still positioned to realize exceptional growth and expansion in the coming year, ensuring the magic of the movies remains strong on the other side of a global pandemic
MAIN STREET OF KANSAS CITY (MO): A century-old downtown Kansas City icon, this historic location has been bringing entertainment to Kansas City locals for generations. RED OAK, TX – A project the scope of which has not been seen in B&B-land previously, the Red Oak, Texas theater was announced just recently in November of 2019. Set to feature 12 theaters, GRAND SCREENS, ScreenX, B-Roll bowling, an Outtakes redemption arcade, a full bar, and much more, this location will put B&B on the map in a major way in the Greater Dallas Metro. PLATTE PURCHASE, MO– Similar in theme and size to the B&B Theatres property in Ankeny, the proposed Platte Purchase location will feature GRAND SCREENS, bowling lanes, arcade, food and beverage, and much more. An anchor feature of an incredible and expansive new commercial development, the theater will be complemented by retail, restaurants, hotels, schools, and a massive sporting and recreation complex. The development as a whole has been delayed due to the global health crisis, and while B&B remains committed to the project, no firm opening date has been determined.
B&B Theatres has been family owned and operated since 1924 when Elmer Bills Sr. opened a movie house in Salisbury, Missouri where the future Mrs. Bills played the piano for silent movies. During the company’s 97 years, and four generations of family involvement, it has seen the coming of sound, color, Technicolor, stadium seating, multiplexes, recliners and digital cinema. B&B continues to lead the industry in innovative and progressive cinema.
B&B Theatres is the 6th largest theatre chain in North America and, following the completion of the projects outlined above, will operate 462 screens at 52 locations in 12 states, including: Kansas, Florida, Missouri, Mississippi, Oklahoma, Iowa, Texas, South Carolina, Virginia, North Carolina, Minnesota, and Washington.
